So sorry if you hate reading.
Reading is one of the best ways to learn new vocabulary. You can do it in the peace of your home, lying in your bed, or resting on the sofa. Maybe, in a beautiful park surrounded by trees... or at your computer.
I suggest buying a Kindle, and downloading some of the many e-books in English - some of them can be downloaded for free - and make good use of the dictionary app which is available; you just click on a word, and you'll find it's definition.
Read something. Read anything. Read everything. But read, please read!
Everyone has a favorite subject, and you can read about yours in English instead of doing it in Portuguese. If you don't like reading books, read magazine articles! Read advertising online, or at least music lyrics. I promise you'll enhance and accelerate your English learning if you just read. Try it for three months only, and check the excellent results; they will certainly make you want to go on reading something every day!
You'll see improvements not only in your vocabulary, but also in your fluency and grammar. Prepositions will start to fall into place automatically, without any effort, and you'll soon be using them correctly. Word order is also something that will start to happen naturally; you'll know exactly where to place adverbs, adjectives, prepositions and pronouns without having to stop to think about it.
Things will start to make sense for you. Because you'll know much more vocabulary, listening is going to start becoming easier and easier.
Your teacher will certainly notice your progress. And so will you!
