I wrote these 13 rules to help you accelerate your English learning. Remember: miracles do not exist! Without effort and dedication, you won't be able to learn anything - let alone a new language! So let's go:
1- Go to class! -
If you miss, how are you supposed to learn?
2- Do your homework!
A lot of the content you've been taught in the classroom is solidified through homework.
3- Be curious! -
That means paying attention, asking questions and doing your own research !
4- Study out of the classroom! -
Talk to your friends in English. Read articles. Do homework. Look at your grammar book. There are many things you can do!
5- Ask questions! -
Some students don't understand something completely but do not ask questions, assuming they'll be able to learn by themselves at home or such... why do this??? Your teacher is there to help you. Besides, it's always better to ask a question as soon as you notice you're in doubt!
6- Take notes! -
Write down new vocabulary and grammar points. Take your personal notes!
7- Read corrections! -
After being corrected, read corrections and pay attention to them!
8- Learn a new word every day! -
That means 365 words in a year. Maybe you could learn two new words a day...
9- Listen to songs! -
That's wonderful to learn new structures, exercise pronunciation and also your listening skills!
10- Watch TV series! -
It's nice and fun!
11- Write a diary! -
Write about the things that happen to you. If you are not very creative, start with simple sentences: "Today I visited my grandmother." Ask your teacher to check on your writing.
12- Learn vocabulary in word groups! -
You can do it by using some apps or creating yourself a vocabulary bank by writing in a notebook all the words you can learn about a certain subject; for example: you can write lists such as "Things in my bedroom."
13- Keep motivated! -
